At Pace we are privileged to have, as the owner of our business, an incredibly accomplished woman who believes in the power of philanthropy and the effectiveness of giving back to the community. One of Bonnie McElveen-Hunter’s favorite sayings is: “Volunteerism is a necessary expression of love to mankind…”

Bonnie has received much recognition for her public service and I wanted to share the video that was aired at the recent ceremony to celebrate her “North Carolina Award”. This award, given for public service and the arts, is awarded by The Governor and is the highest award the State can bestow.

Bonnie received the 2012 award alongside an amazing group including a playwright, a scupltor, a jazz musician, a scientist, and a fellow public servant. You can learn more about this year’s award recipients at the NC Department of Cultural Resources.

From everyone at Pace, congratulations Bonnie!
