Summer Art Intern
Pace, North America’s leading and largest independently owned brand storytelling agency, is looking for a Summer Art Intern to join our Dallas office to help supportSouthwest: The Magazine. As the magazine of Southwest Airlines, Southwest: The Magazine reaches 5.5 million readers every month. Rather than focusing on celebrity coverage, we explore a wide array of subjects including travel, music, pets, business, technology, sports, health, food, and cocktails. Past special issues have been devoted to the themes of breakfast (January 2016), new drinking capitals (December 2016), an entire issue dedicated to Mexico travel and culture, and millennial parenting (April 2017). Our small, diverse staff will show you the ins and outs of publishing a national award-winning magazine. You can see more online at www.southwestthemagazine.com.
The ideal candidate will have magazine or newspaper experience, show strong organizational skills and close attention to detail, and be able to manage several projects at a time on deadline. He or she will be a talented designer with an eye for photography and illustration, a strong understanding of grid-based layout, and the initiative to chime in at an editorial meeting or pick up the phone to track down information and resources.
This internship pays $15/hr and candidates must be able to dedicate 25 to 29 hours per week in our Uptown Dallas office.

- Administrative tasks
- Adobe Creative Suite – primarily InDesign and Photoshop
- Magazine knowledge
- Reading and concepting art ideas
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Willingness to work in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent, professional communication skills (email, phone, and in-person)
