Creative Director (Temporary)
Position Summary
The Creative Director serves as the creative lead and creative decision maker for a project, campaign and/or program. Additionally, the Creative Director owns the room, shaping and presenting creative work internally and externally.
Principal Accountabilities
- Provide the creative vision and direction for the execution and production of creative work across all platforms and channels – print, digital (mobile-first) and social
- Partner with functional peers including account, strategy, analytics and project management
- Confidently share and defend the work
- Articulate the solve for “The Strategic Why” presented by the strategy team and how the creative team can uniquely address the strategic insight to help meet business objectives
- Ensure creative integrity and excellence in every asset we produce
- Manage assigned program from the creative perspective – the vision, the direction and the day-to-day production
- Manage the creative team and delegate work appropriately
- Mentor and develop the creative team, their skills and their career paths
- Lead ideation and brainstorming sessions
- Serve as lead creative in client meetings and presentations
- Manage and direct video/photo shoots
- Advocate for proper scheduling, time, tools, resources and processes for creating the work
- Review new and existing SOW’s for staffing and allocation; work with account team to ensure all work is properly staffed for completion
- Management of final selection of freelance staff
- Collaborate and share ideas/best practices with Creative Directors across the organization
- Serves as proxy when needed for Group Creative Director or Executive Creative Director, sitting in on cross-functional and client meetings
Job Qualifications
Education: BFA in Graphic Design or related degree
Experience: 10+ years in a design related field; agency experience preferred
Skills:
- Collaborative; ability to bring teams together
- Able to demonstrate servant leadership
- Able to identify and develop talent
- Conceptual thinking as well as hands-on content creation
- Experience leading a creative team is a must
- Deep understanding of the print and web process and possibilities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Able to identify opportunities for upselling and growing a business creatively
- Able to present “The Strategic Why” behind the creative and articulate the solve
- Experience working across all platforms and channels – print, digital (mobile-first) and social
- Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and PowerPoint
