Developer

Position Summary

The Developer will be accountable for the technical implementation and maintenance of web projects for desktop, tablet, and mobile environments. Developers contribute to the code base for projects through hands-on development. This position will work closely with the Design and QA teams to ensure the speed and quality of products. This role will also be responsible for helping to ensure the integrity of our existing code management and review processes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Hands-on development of web projects using PHP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, SQL, and web services, and third-party tools
  • Implement and maintenance of content management systems, including customized plug-in and template development
  • Database maintenance for web application and CMS systems
  • Code review and appropriate unit testing of code based on established coding standards
  • Monitoring and maintenance of existing applications and websites to ensure performance and security
  • Documentation of technical processes for Quality Assurance testing and future maintenance

Job Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred, demonstrated proficiency and experience accepted as well
Experience: 2+ years of interactive/web development experience required

  • Proficiency in React, Angular, Node.js, PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, HTML, CSS, XML, and SQL
  • Experience developing in the LAMP environment and shell scripting
  • Experience developing in common application frameworks, CMS tools such WordPress, ExpressionEngine, CodeIgniter, Drupal, and CakePHP
  • Exposure to enterprise CMS systems such as CQ5, Endeca, or Interwoven
  • Experience working with third-party APIs such as Facebook and Google
  • Strong understanding of information architecture as it relates to back-end development
  • Familiarity with web development best practices, including cross-browser development, tablet and mobile website development, responsive design
  • Familiarity with development methods and processes, including version control systems (CVS, SVN or Git), bug tracking, Agile development processes, Use Case development, and Object-Oriented development
  • Familiarity with relational databases and production processes
  • Collaborative approach to defining, designing, and developing projects
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Pro-active self-starter with good business and communication skills
  • Works well in fast-paced growing environment and demonstrates ability to adapt to new technologies and trends
