IT Desktop Support

Position Summary

Pace, North America’s leading and largest independent brand storytelling agency, is looking for an IT Desktop Support Specialist to join our team in Greensboro, NC. The IT Desktop Support Specialist is responsible for supporting personal computer installation, configuration and maintenance of PC/Mac hardware and software for users in local and remote offices. This role is also responsible for providing training for end users and analyzing user needs in order to make configuration, hardware and/or software recommendations. This role requires a strong understanding of computer systems and strong analytical skills.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Troubleshoot problems involving LAN and personal computer systems (hardware and software)
  • Listen to users to identify problems and make any necessary corrections
  • Coordinate with vendors as needed to correct system issues
  • Support changes to the voice system including Adds, Moves and Changes
  • Support changes to the conference bridge system and maintain the user spreadsheet
  • Support changes to user accounts and user access
  • Maintain computer virus protection
  • Implement workstation upgrades
  • Work collaboratively internal departments and external vendors
  • Maintain IT inventory
  • Provide recommendations for IT purchases and justify correlating costs
  • Track printer consumables and communicate needs to vendors
  • Document daily tasks using internal workflow system
  • Abide by established policies on system use and services
  • Provide overall technical and A/V support for employees (local and remote) and visiting clients
  • Provide technical support for all printers

Job Qualifications


  • Associate’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field or COMPTIA A+ Certification
  • Microsoft, Apple, or additional COMPTIA certifications are a plus


  • At least 1 year of desktop support for Windows and/or Apple
  • Working in a mixed Windows/Apple environment is preferred


  • Ability to solve problems quickly and automate processes
  • Confident making recommendations
  • Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Strong understanding of operating systems
  • Stay up to date on hardware and software technologies (read trade magazines and journals; attend seminars and classes)
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Able to form strong cross-functional relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
