SVP, Head of Client Services

Position Summary

Pace, North America’s leading and largest independently owned brand storytelling agency, is looking for an SVP, Head of Client Services to lead and execute the strategy for cross-agency account teams.  We’re seeking an idea-generating, solutions-oriented agency account leader that will drive agency growth in partnership with our President.  This is a management, client-facing role that will require some travel.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Articulate strategic objectives in managing and growing client relationships
  • Develop and maintain inspirational client relationships that provide strategic thought leadership
  • Maintain continuous dialogue with client stakeholders to ensure healthy relationships on client programs
  • Grow Pace’s influence in developing new business and growing current accounts
  • Drive client brand and business objectives forward
  • Collaborate with key agency leads on thought leadership to position Pace as a premiere content marketing agency solution to clients
  • Lead and inspire cross-functional collaboration internally
  • Provide supervision, management, leadership, guidance and development opportunities within the account discipline
  • Set vision, articulate expectations and support the account team in order to meet and exceed client expectations
  • Maintain P&L’s for assigned clients and monitor financial objectives for the agency
  • Recruit and hire (in conjunction with Pace HR) highly qualified talent to meet client program objectives

Job Qualifications


Education:     Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising or a related field


  • Minimum 15 years of experience in a fast-paced agency environment
  • Demonstrated experience and success in leadership of cross-functional agency teams


  • Strategic business, agency leadership and management skills
  • Personnel development and motivation skills – ability to manage and motivate personnel and peers
  • Broad knowledge of all aspects of content marketing, brand communications and creative and editorial development
  • Strong writing, oral communication, and presentation skills
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to master and maintain a working knowledge of the clients’ business, competition, consumer and industry trends
  • Experience working with digital marketing channels, including mobile, web, social and video
  • Solution-oriented toward problem/challenge solving in order to meet internal operational needs and overall client expectations
